Traveling in Style

I am going to Dallas today and as always, looking fabulous is a must.

This is the outfit. It is super loose and comfortable and still classy. The nude flats are a lifesaver and the shirt flows so that you don't feel hugged constantly. It's a simple outfit that still gets your point across.

The skirt is long and soft and can go with just about everything. It's a very important piece for traveling anywhere and easy to pack. The shoes are Vince Camuto nude ballet flats and they are very comfortable and great to wear when traveling all day.

The necklace. The necklace is large and pink and actually takes the place of a tank top because of its size and isn't too dressy to the point that it take the outfit to a whole other level but dressy enough that you don't look lazy.

Of course, gold earrings and simple makeup!

Infallible Beauty

Makeup thank goodness is something that never goes out of style! I always wanted some sort of guide that showed me how to put on makeup and still glimmer without my foundation/powder covering it up. So as I was practicing, I've finally come to the conclusion that yes, there are more women like me out there that want to save their glimmer and still wear all of their makeup. So I've made an "Infallible Beauty" makeup tutorial that shows how I do my makeup and what order works best for me; and who knows, it might be perfect for you too!
** all of my makeup is the Josie Maran line; each product is either organic or all natural and it's the best organic/all natural line I have found so far and it's at Sephora

First, always start out with a clean face. Yes, this is common sense; but there are women who don't always start with a clean pallet and that is not healthy for their skin in any way. So this is me without makeup on and yes, I have pimples, and no, I am not afraid for people to see them.

Step 1: minimize your pores. I use "the POREfessional" balm on my chin, nose, between my eyebrows and lower middle of my forehead. Those are just the areas where I have pore problems, yours may be different.

Step 2: foundation/powder. I use the Josie Maran "Argan matchmaker serum foundation" as my foundation and powder. I love this product because it truly does take the shade of my skin instantly and it stays on ALL day.
**when applying liquid foundation to your skin, always be sure to use a brush; often times our fingers do not apply full coverage of our foundation to our face which can throw off the whole look and make us seem like a "cake face" where our makeup is heavier in some areas than others

Step 3: highlight/shimmer. I use Josie Maran "Argan illuminizer." This shimmer is the best because even when it has blush on it, the shimmer still shines through. This is my personal exception to my rule of "all liquid makeup needs to be applied with a brush." I squirt some into my fingers (not the palm of my hand) to apply it because I like it all over my cheeks. When shimmer is on, your whole cheek area lights up.

Step 4: nude eyeshadow. As you saw when I had no makeup on, I have dark circles around my eyes. Rule of thumb: no matter how little makeup you're wanting to wear, ALWAYS use a nude eyeshadow. It brightens the eyes, and brings your face to life. I put my eye shadow on from the base of my top lid to my eyebrow line and on my lower lid as well. I love the Josie Maran "Argan beautiful eyes: beautiful nudes" pallet. It's the only eye shadow pallet I use.

Step 5: rose nude eye shadow. I love rose nude eye shadow because it tones down my eyes from all the shimmer already applied to my cheeks. It is simple but still bright and only goes on my lid, not all the way to my eyebrow line.

Step 6: dark liner shadow. I use a dark Josie Maran eye shadow at the far end of my lid close to my lash line and only extend it half way. You have to blend it in! I also do the same for my bottom lid. This serves as my eye liner.

Step 7: mascara. The Josie Maran mascara is phenomenal. It lengthens and separates and is the perfect shade of black. Depending on your style, a little mascara or a lot is always pretty with this makeup scheme.

Step 8: lips. Some people may not include this step, unless you are a lip color kind of girl, and I am. Pinks and reds are my favorite shades for lip color but it's entirely up to you of course!

Step 9: blush. I always apply my blush last. Reason being, if you put it on first, your eye makeup has to coordinate with it, which limits your selection. Once my eyes are finished and my lips are done, I know how much blush to put on and the length I'm feeling it should be (whole cheekbone, half cheekbone, etc.)

And that is my "Infallible Beauty" makeup tutorial! Love, yours truly!

Pristine and Chic

The outfit. The main focus of this outfit is the shoes. Because there are so many things going on with the shoes material wise, it's very important not to take attention away from them but still have fabulous clothes to go with them.

The dress. Because the shoes are the main focus of this outfit, the dress is simple yet still aesthetically pleasing. If ever a time you can't decide on a color of a simple dress, cream or navy is always a safe staple for any outfit. What I love about this dress in particular is the leather piece at the lower neck. It is simple but adds a bit of character to the dress. A very nice finish.

The shoes. My FAVORITE part of this outfit, period. They are white and black stripe, cheetah on the inner and outer sides of the foot and outlined in lime green. These are the main attraction, so let them shine! Because there is so much going on with them in terms of patterns, little accessorizing is needed.

The makeup. Because there are so many colors in the shoes, I took the approach of wearing little makeup and bright lips, mascara and no eyeliner. The advantage to taking this approach to your makeup is that if you feel it is too light and would like to add a few darker colors in your eyeshadow for example, you can!
Accessories. I chose to go with gold dangle earrings because they don't steal from the look over all and they are simple, again, letting the attention go straight to the shoes.
** also, a simple gold bracelet would be appropriate for this outfit as well

Sunnies. With every good look, there is a pair of hot sunglasses waiting near by! I love my ray bans because they can be dressed up OR down and they are simple in an Audrey Hepburn kind of way!

Outfit of the Day

The outfit. I was feeling like making a statement when I looked in my closet this morning. It's very mature, yet still subtle for the young entrepreneur who doesn't want to take the boring suit approach to dress professionally.
Accessories. Less is best in this case because the main focus is complimenting the dress. The mint earrings are a perfect pop of color and are set in a gold frame so that they compliment the gold buckle on the dress. The diamond bracelets are perfect for the wrists because its a gentle touch since there are no "sparkly things" anywhere else in the outfit; they are also set in gold frames.

The dress. The first thing that caught my eye about this dress in the store was the sash and gold buckle. DETAIL IS IMPORTANT. The dress is long, form fitting but not promiscuous, high neck line, and black. Black and navy blue are the two most professional clothing colors you can get. The fun comes in accessorizing this pieces!

The shoes. Shoes are so very important when creating an outfit; they can complete it or tear it apart. I love these shoes for this dress because they are the perfect compliment. They are black with gold detail (and super comfortable!!). Also they are flattering to the ankles and lower leg with their connecting straps. Perfect.

The makeup. If you are someone who likes dark eyes and bright lips, this is the look for you. It's heavy but not harsh (where some go wrong). For the lips, a shade of pink or red is perfect! But be sure not to over due the blush and eye shadow because it can become over bearing; that honey isn't attractive.

The makeup. If you are someone like me, light makeup is the way to go! It's very petite and gentle looking as well as professional and feminine. When guys say they like a woman with no makeup, they mean it! So wear it in moderation so that you save your skin and look natural. Nobody wants to date a "cake face!"
